Under the heading "Welcome 2022", TV channel ZDF will be showing an attractive programme with numerous artists and celebrity guests live from Berlin on 31 December from 8.15 pm. The programme will be hosted by the popular presenter duo Johannes B. Kerner and Andrea Kiewel.
"Together with all those involved, we have decided to stage the event as a TV production. We promise to transport the great New Year's Eve atmosphere from the Brandenburg Gate to the TV screens. With a great programme of exciting guests, interactive audience participation and great entertainment. Stay home. Stay tuned," says Maiko Heinrich, Managing Director of sib Silvester in Berlin Veranstaltungen GmbH, about the decision to make the show at the Brandenburg Gate primarily a television production.
The concept for the event will be constantly adapted to the current situation in cooperation with the respective Berlin authorities. Depending on the current situation, a small number of people may be present as live audience.
Strong Line-up at the Brandenburg Gate
Michael Patrick Kelly, Art Garfunkel Junior, Marianne Rosenberg, Team5ünf, Bonnie Tyler, Nico Suave & Teesy are other artists who will be performing in front of the Brandenburg Gate. Alongside the previously announced acts Nathan Evans, Adel Tawil, Glasperlenspiel, Alle Farben, Kelvin Jones, Dieter Hallervorden and Dadi Freyr, they will provide the perfect atmosphere for New Year's Eve.

This question will be answered during " Celebrate at the Gate". During the course of the ZDF programme "Welcome 2022", the viewers are taken into the living rooms of celebrities such as Bill and Tom Kaulitz, Art Garfunkel or the new Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Karl Lauterbach. They talk about their very personal New Year's eve and their most beautiful and important moments of the year 2021, as it comes to an end.
Showing humanity – Action #Danke2021 goes live into German living rooms
Just say thank you. These days, a sign of solidarity and humanity is even more important for all of us. As part of "Welcome 2022", viewers can become part of the programme. The #Danke2021 campaign calls for photo and video messages to be sent in.
