On Sunday 20 March, musicians sent the message "End the war!" from the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin to the world. DEF Media, a subsidiary of Social Chain AG, produced the live event, which was broadcast on TV stations ProSieben and Sat.1 from midday until late in the evening.
Over 50 stars such as Marius Müller-Westernhagen, Zoe Wees, Sarah Connor, Peter Maffay, Michael Patrick Kelly, Clueso, Revolverheld, Silbermond, Rea Garvey, David Garrett, Mark Forster and many other artists took to the stage.
In addition, political and public speakers and helpers appeared. All had a common goal, to set a sign for democracy and human rights and to collect many donations to support the victims of the war in Ukraine.
All in all, the initiators counted more than 300,000 visitors and look back on a peaceful and very emotional rally. By the end of the live programme at 22:00, donations of well over 12.5 million euros had been collected!
SOUND OF PEACE is a large and international association of artists and cultural workers from various countries who spontaneously joined forces immediately after the outbreak of the war of aggression against Ukraine in order to set an example for democracy, humanity and a life without violence and war - in Ukraine and all over the world where people can no longer feel safe in their homeland.
